Boy’s recycling drive gets aid from Owens

Owens Community College students are helping a Curtice middle school student recycle unwanted clothes.

Erek Hansen, an Eisenhower Middle School sixth grader who has received media attention over the years because of his passion for recycling, is to receive several hundred items during a ceremony Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the college.

Students from the Owens environmental club collected jeans, denim jackets, and purses to be recycled into building insulation, according to a statement from Owens.
