The state of Ohio has sued a defunct Allen County replacement window company, alleging it engaged in shoddy work, failed to deliver goods and services, and used high-pressure sales tactics that violate consumer-protection and door-to-door-sales laws.
In a lawsuit fi led yesterday, Attorney General Jim Petro s offi ce sought an injunction
and fi nancial restitution for 18 consumers who did business with the former Primax Window Specialists Inc., of Elida, and its owner, Richard Thompson, of Lima.
The lawsuit alleges that the customers, many of them elderly, lost $46,856 by doing business with Primax, which closed permanently in November. The business violated Ohio s Consumer Sales Practices Act, the suit states.
