Toledo ranks 79 in U.S. in safe-driver survey

Toledo is ranked No. 79 for safest drivers in the country out of 200 cities, according to Allstate Insurance Co.

The city moved higher than the previous year's No. 87 ranking, and drivers had 9.5 years on average between accidents, compared with 10 years nationally. Allstate analyzed its claim records in 2003 and 2004 to reach its findings.

Residents of Sioux Falls, S.D., ranked as the safest drivers nationally, and Dayton ranked highest in Ohio, at No. 20. Cleveland was No. 29, Cincinnati No. 76, and Columbus No. 98.
