SANDUSKY Cedar Fair LP, which owns Cedar Point and 11 other amusement parks, said yesterday that it has no plans to build a theme park in China, despite a published report to the contrary.
Spokesman Stacy Frole said CBS Inc. had an deal with Tianjin, China, for a $625 million theme park that would become part of CBS Paramount Parks chain. But when Cedar Fair took over the Paramount firm, it rejected several projects, including that one. A Reuters story yesterday said the project was ongoing.
The local firm also rejected a plan to invest in a Great Wolf Lodge resort being built adjacent to Cedar Fair s newly acquired Kings Island amusement park near Cincinnati.
