The Toledo area ranks favorably in several industries, according to a database analysis performed for the Regional Growth Partnership that compared the city to 10 other North American locations.
The IBM Global Business Services database found northwest Ohio has relative strength in industrial engineering services, financial back office, automotive component manufacturing, transportation, and specialty glass manufacturing.
These results will help build a focused economic identity for the region and allow us to implement a strategy with specific goals to increase the quality of jobs in northwest Ohio, said Steve Weathers, growth partnership president.
The study used a variety of measures for Toledo and cities such as Akron, Indianapolis, Louisville, Albuquerque, and Rochester, N.Y.
