Jobless rates drop in Toledo, metro area
Unemployment rates in metro Toledo dropped last month, with Toledo’s level slipping to 10 percent.
The March jobless rates, released Tuesday by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, were 9.7 percent for Lucas County, down from 10.5 percent the month before; 8.9 percent in Wood County, down from 9.4 percent in February; 11.3 percent in Fulton County, down from 12.5 percent the month before; and 16.3 percent in Ottawa County, down from 17.9 percent the month before.
The Toledo rate last month, down from 10.7 percent the month before, meant 14,300 were unemployed.
The Ohio rate in March, released last week, was 8.9 percent in March, the first time it was below 9 percent in two years. The national rate last month, released more than two weeks ago, was 8.8 percent.
