The unemployment rate in Lucas County dropped from 8.4 percent in July to 7.6 percent in August, according to data released today by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
In Toledo, the unemployment rate fell from 9.1 percent to 8.3 percent.
Other nearby counties also lower jobless rates, with Wood County declining from 7.3 percent to 6.6 percent, Ottawa going from 8.2 percent to 7.1 percent, and Fulton dropping from 7.8 percent to 6.7 percent.
The data released today are not seasonally adjusted.
