ADRIAN - The Adrian school board approved salary increases for members of two unions and filled a vacancy on the board at a meeting Monday night.
A three-year contract with the Adrian Administrators' Association includes a 1 percent salary increase for 2001-02 and raises of 3 percent in 2002-03 and 2003-04. Under a contract reopener, Head Start/Head Start Readiness employees will receive a 3.75 percent raise this year.
The board chose Paul Mueller to replace Mike Buku, who resigned his board seat two weeks ago.
Mr. Mueller, a quality-assurance engineer at Inergy Automotive in Adrian, ran unsuccessfully for a seat on the board in April.
