Police pick up 24 students in 4-hour truancy sweep

Twenty-four students were removed from Toledo streets yesterday during a four-hour truancy sweep by police.

Seventeen were boys and seven were girls. The students ranged in age from 9 to 17, police said.

Students picked up during the sweep were taken to Connecting Point on East Bancroft Street, where they were counseled and where relatives or guardians were called to pick up the children.
