Atlanta orchestra chief to get BGSU honorary

BOWLING GREEN — The music director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra is to receive an honorary degree tomorrow from Bowling Green State University.

Robert Spano, BGSU's college of musical arts orchestra di|rector from 1985 to '89, will receive the honorary doctor of musical arts degree at 1 p.m. in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center at BGSU.

Mr. Spano has conducted many major North American orchestras, including symphonies in Boston, San Francisco, Chicago, Montreal, Pittsburgh, and Toronto.
