Whitehouse: Schools get permit for new board building

Whitehouse Village Council last week granted a special use permit to the Anthony Wayne schools and changed zoning to allow the Savanna Lake subdivision to move forward.

The special-use permit is for construction of a new Anthony Wayne board of education building on Bucher Road. The new building will cost an estimated $1.47 million.

The change will switch 35 acres on Berkey-Southern Road from a suburban to a residential district. Plans for the Savanna Lake subdivision on the land call for 59 single-family homes.
