Oregon school board OKs pact for 175 workers

After a closed-door meeting Wednesday night, the Oregon Board of Education approved a three-year contract with 175 support staff personnel who belong to the Ohio Association of Public School Employees.

The contract, which became effective July 1, affects the districts bus drivers, custodians, secretaries, cafeteria workers, maintenance workers, and para-professionals.

The workers will receive a 3.5 percent pay increase each year of the contract.

The union is affiliated with the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees.
