TEMPERANCE - The Bedford Board of Education has reached a tentative agreement on a new two-year labor agreement with the Bedford Education Association, the union that represents more than 400 of the district's teachers.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed pending a ratification vote by the union's membership, which is expected to take place later this month.
Teachers have been working under the terms of their previous contract, which expired June 30. The major issues in the talks were wages, insurance coverage, and the district's calendar, said Wes Berger, Bedford's assistant superintendent for personnel.
Contract talks continue with four other district employee groups representing bus drivers, secretaries, paraprofessionals, and food service workers.
