Laura Gerkensmeyer, a senior from Genoa, plans to attend Owens Community College where she will major in medical imaging. Her favorite subjects are ceramics, math and choir and she carries a 4.0 grade point average.
Laura has achieved First and Second Team All-SLL; is recipient of the All-Star Award and the USAA National History and Government Award. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society, and plays volleyball and softball.
Laura has participated in the Relay for Life, Buddy Walk, Multiple Sclerosis Bike-to-the-Bay and various church activities.
"Laura excels both academically and socially. She is an asset not only in the classroom, but also on the volleyball court," said Angie Closson, counselor. "Laura is a well-rounded individual who has a bright future ahead of her."
Laura is the daughter of Timothy and Bonnie Gerkensmeyer.
