The following area high school students received prizes and/or scholarships to Heidelberg College in the school's Performance Pacesetter Scholarship Competition.
Jane Anosike of Toledo, a senior at Springfield High School, won a $20,000 scholarship in the voice, senior division competition.
Sara Hanthorn of Oregon, a Clay High School student, and to Emily Anderson of Monclova Township, a junior at Anthony Wayne High School, were awarded senior division instrumental competition scholarships. Sara, playing bassoon, won second place and a $16,000 scholarship. Emily, on the clarinet, won a $12,000 award.
Mark Blowers of Toledo, a freshman at St. Francis de Sales High School, won first place playing trumpet; and Gloria Chan-Mi Hwang of Sylvania, a sophomore at Southview High School, won second place playing flute in the junior division instrumental competition.
