Parents will see minimal changes in student fees at Northwood Local's middle school and high school and no changes at all at the Wood County district's elementary schools.
The district's board of education approved the 2005-06 student fees yesterday, which kept the fees for elementary students static at $25. Changes to the middle school fees include the addition of a calculator now needed by 7th and 8th graders for the state achievement tests. The calculator is $8.
Superintendent Ron Matter said that copies of the fees will soon be available on the district's Web site. The fees cover costs of items such as workbooks, student planners, and at the high schools any costs associated with a particular class, such as science labs.
In other action, the board approved lunch prices for next school year: $2 for elementary students, $2.25 for middle schoolers, and $2.25 for high schoolers. The prices are consistent with what the district has charged the past two years.
