HILLSDALE Hillsdale County voters turned down a pair of millage requests for the intermediate school district in voting Tuesday.
A special-education levy that would have added $330,000 a year was defeated 571-543, while a vocational education levy that would have raised $100,000 a year lost 565-550.
District officials said the levies were needed to offset rising costs and a reduction in state aid.
