Owens seeks nursing partnership in Taiwan

An official from Owens Community College will travel this week to Taiwan to try to establish a partnership with a school of nursing at a university there.

Dawn Wetmore, associate dean of academic services at Owens, and two representatives of the Global Nursing Institute will meet with officials at Chung Shan Medical University.

Ms. Wetmore said she plans to discuss with leaders there a current nursing certificate Owens offers to international students. She also will talk about a possible student-to-student exchange between the institutions.

Owens offers an international nursing certificate for students overseas. To date, Ms. Wetmore said only students from Taiwan have been involved, but she said Owens is hoping to expand it to schools in other countries as well.
