1,300 to receive degrees from Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN Bowling Green State University expects to give degrees to more than 1,300 students during summer commencement exercises today.
Ceremonies begin at 9:30 a.m. on the lawn in front of University Hall. In case of rain, graduation will take place in Anderson Arena.
The summer graduating class includes 50 doctoral candidates, 611 master s degree candidates, and nine candidates for specialist degrees in education.
Mary Wolfe, who received a master s degree in fine arts from BGSU in 1968 and was an instructor in art history on campus, will be given an honorary doctor of fine arts.
Valerie Newell, a 1975 BGSU graduate who is managing director of RiverPoint Capital Management, an independent investment adviser in Cincinnati, will speak at the ceremony.
