Low-income families in need of school supplies this fall for their children may register next week with the Salvation Army for free backpacks and supplies.
Registration will be held Monday through Friday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 60 North Erie St.
The supplies are intended for children ages 6 through 14.
To qualify, parents must bring a photo ID, Social Security cards for everyone in the household, their children's birth certificates or proof of custody, proof of the family's income, and some type of bill for proof of address.
Those interested in donating school supplies can drop off items until Aug. 18 at the following locations: The Andersons, Charter One Bank, Dollar Tree, Kroger stores, Office Max, and The Pharm. Monetary donations can be mailed to: The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 798, Toledo, Ohio, 43697.
