Monroe college chosen for federal reading grant

MONROE The National Endowment for the Arts announced yesterday that Monroe County Community College has received a grant to support a month-long community reading program.

In the college s $16,936 grant request, it stated it has chosen to read and celebrate Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury during its communitywide events from March 19 to April 21.

The college will develop a program of activities related to the novel, including guest speakers, panel discussions, book clubs, Read-A-Thons, and essay and art contests.
