UT exhibit to showcase art by cancer patients

The University of Toledo Health Science Campus will host an art exhibit called "Oncology on Canvas" on the fourth floor of the Mulford Library from 9 a.m. today to noon Thursday.

The international exhibit will include art from 25 cancer patients, oncologists, nurses, family members, and other caregivers along with a brief narrative describing their inspiration.

Other events on the Health Science Campus during the week include:

•A presentation by art therapist Claudia W. St. Clair at

7 tonight in the Mulford Library Cafe.

•A discussion by oncology nurses about research on art as therapy at 6 p.m. tomorrow in the Mulford Library Cafe.

•A presentation by muralist Beth Covert, who was treated for cancer in 2006, followed by a panel discussion by cancer patients at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Ruppert Health Center.
