RIDGEVILLE CORNERS, Ohio William J. Spiess, director of career and technical education at the Four County Career Center in Henry County, has been named the school s superintendent.
I m really excited about it, said Mr. Spiess, 56, of Liberty Center, Ohio. I would not be moving up into the superintendency if it wasn t for a lot of great people there. We have a lot of quality programs.
The promotion will be effective Aug. 1. His salary has not been determined.
The school offers career and technical training programs to juniors and seniors from 22 school districts in Defiance, Fulton, Henry, and Williams counties.
Mr. Spiess has been at the career center for more than 30 years. He taught landscape and greenhouse technology from 1974 through 1998. In 1999, he became the career and technical supervisor. In 2002, he moved up to director of operations and, since 2006, has been the director of career and technical education.
