Bedford superintendent announces retirement

BLADE STAFF

TEMPERANCE Jon White, superintendent of Bedford Public Schools, will retire June 30.

Mr. White, 62, announced his retirement Thursday night to the board of education, ending a 40-year career with the district.

He was appointed superintendent in 2005 after serving as interim superintendent.

A native of Cridersville, Ohio in Auglaize County, Mr. White began at the school district as a special education teacher.
