Port Clinton district sets meeting for contractors

PORT CLINTON — The Port Clinton City School District is to hold an informational meeting for contractors to outline the construction schedule for the planned new middle school and the addition and renovation to Bataan Memorial Elementary School.

Amy Runge of R.J. Runge Co. of Port Clinton, the project's construction manager, is to conduct the meeting at 3 p.m. Friday.

School officials said the meeting will be a chance for local contractors to learn about opportunities to get involved in the construction process, which is scheduled to begin in spring.

The district is paying for the $42 million project with assistance from the School Facilities Project and proceeds from a 3.63-mill, 37-year bond issue.
