Swanton superintendent to become principal

SWANTON — Swanton Local Schools Superintendent Paulette Baz is resigning her post to become principal of the district’s Park Elementary on Aug. 1.

The Board of Education approved the job switch at a special meeting Friday. Mrs. Baz’s $90,000 salary will be unchanged. Russell Griggs, superintendent of Fayette schools, will fill in part time as interim superintendent, and Mrs. Baz is authorized to be acting superintendent when he is unavailable. Mr. Griggs will be paid $390 per day.

Mrs. Baz, a former principal at Swanton High School and middle school, will replace Jane Myers, who resigned to become principal at Defiance Elementary School.
