Eighth graders, parents can get high school tips

MONROE -- Monroe High School will hold its annual open house for eighth graders and their parents from 6 to 8:15 p.m. Monday. All eighth graders are invited, whether they are in Monroe Middle School, in private school, or home-schooled.

The evening will kick off with a clubs and activities festival from 6 to 6:30 p.m., followed by a presentation on student life and high school expectations. There will be building tours and parents and students can attend three 15-minute sessions on such topics as curriculum, extracurriculars, and career prep.

Parents whose eighth graders are not enrolled in the Monroe Public Schools are advised to attend a meeting at 7:45 p.m., where counselors will explain the enrollment process.

Parents with questions should call the assistant principal at 734-265-3460.
