Alternate Learning Center
Jennica King has been with the Education Service Center of Lake Erie West since 2006. She has demonstrated initiative and a positive attitude while working with students and staff. Not only is Mrs. King an enthusiastic art teacher, but a caring and helpful co-worker as well. Each of these qualities has made her a tremendous asset to the school.
Mrs. King has an energetic and innovative approach to teaching which shines through in every project the students undertake.
She is organized and efficient, and is able to handle a multitude of tasks with ease, determination, and grace.
Nominated by her peers for staff of the month on numerous occasions, Mrs. King was recognized in September, 2011. She continues to be an active member of the staff morale committee and strives to raise staff morale through her bright personality, creative ideas, and vibrant art displays. She has created numerous murals throughout the halls of the Alternate Learning Center that continue to enhance the school through their unique design. She takes the initiative to create inspired decorations that create a welcoming and cheerful environment for the holidays and parent gatherings. Her contributions to our students, staff, and building are unparalleled.
Mike Smurr, principal, describes Mrs. King as "an outstanding individual, willing to go above and beyond to get the job done, a terrific art teacher."
Mrs. King has a bachelor of fine arts degree and a master's degree in art education from Bowling Green State University and the University of Phoenix, respectively.
