Swanton teacher sentenced in sex case

WAUSEON -- A Swanton High School teacher has been found guilty of attempted sexual battery and sentenced to the regional jail, the Fulton County prosecutor's office announced.

Michelle Blosser, 44, of Wauseon also permanently surrendered her Ohio teaching license as part of a plea agreement.

Authorities said she attempted to engage in sexual conduct in February with a student at Swanton High, where she taught psychology, sociology, and advanced placement psychology. She was indicted in March.

Fulton County Common Pleas Judge James Barber sentenced Blosser to one year of community control and ordered her to serve 10 days in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio near Stryker, Ohio. Judge Barber also ordered her to pay prosecution costs, receive a mental health assessment, and have no contact with the victim. If she does not abide by those conditions, she could be ordered to serve a year in prison, authorities said.
