UT business college earns agency rating of ‘excellent’

The University of Toledo’s college of business and innovation has been given a rating of “excellent” by Eduniversal, a collegiate ranking system created by SMBG, a French consulting firm and rating agency that specializes in higher education.

Eduniversal rates the 1,000 best business schools in more than 150 countries to give students worldwide information on choosing the right business school for them. The rankings give schools up to five “palmes” — a rating of local, good, excellent, top, or universal — and a cumulative “dean’s recommendation” by academic peers worldwide.

Only 153 business schools in the United States made Eduniversal’s 2012 list of recommended schools. The University of Toledo’s business school received a three-palme “excellent” rating, a 24 percent “dean’s recommendation,” and was No. 72 out of 74 schools in the “excellent” category.

It was one of just four business schools in Ohio that were rated by Eduniversal. The others were Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve with “top” ratings, and Xavier University, which received an “excellent” rating.

Harvard University’s business school was the highest-rated school in the United States and worldwide, with five palmes and a “dean’s recommendation” of 653 percent. The London Business School was rated No. 2.

The next highest rated North American schools were McGill University’s Desautels Faculty Of Management in Montreal and the Yale School of Management.
