A tentative contract between Bowling Green State University and its faculty union includes a retroactive pay increase of 6.5 percent for two years and up to 3 percent raises for each of the next three years.
The proposed contract remains to be finalized by the university’s board of trustees and the BGSU Faculty Association. A faculty vote on the proposal is expected by mid-April, said David Jackson, union president.
Proposed terms include a 6.5 percent retroactive raise for 2011-2012 and 2012-2013, according to the faculty association. Employees could earn up to 3 percent more in each of the next three years; a portion of those raises are merit-based. A $1.8 million fund also would be used to bring salaries to an average with those at Kent State, Miami, and Ohio universities, the association said.
