The Toledo Board of Education today selected Assistant Superintendent Romules Durant as interim superintendent of Toledo Public Schools.
Board members started meeting at noon today to interview final candidates Douglas Heuer and Mr. Durant. Mr. Heuer is the superintendent of Cleveland Heights-University Heights Schools superintendent.
The two were whittled from an original list of five finalists. Board members voted unanimously to begin negotiating a contract with Mr. Durant.
The interim candidate is need to replace current Superintendent Jerome Pecko, who announced he is leaving the district.
