Several local students have been named winners in a design competition sponsored by the Toledo chapter of the American Institute of Architects.
The 63rd annual contest asked students to design a theoretical two-unit duplex for the Lucas Metropolitan Housing Authority. Awards were given for different grade levels, as well as for excellence in sustainable design, landscape design, graphics and presentation, and detailing.
Winners included Brennan Cox and Ryan Gerber, both of Anthony Wayne High School; Dustin J. Jacobs, Whitmer High School; Blake Griffey, St. Francis de Sales High School; Cody R. Dearing, Sylvania Northview High School, and Austin Jacobs, a junior high student who entered via Start High School.
