Gas pipelines to get upgrade in West Toledo

Columbia Gas of Ohio Inc. said Thursday it will spend $2 million to upgrade pipelines in two West Toledo neighborhoods as part of its $2 billion, 25-year plan.

Approximately $1.6 million will be spent to lay 14,000 feet of plastic pipe and install new gas meters in an area east of Sherbrooke Road, between Berdan Avenue and Talbot Street and between Berdan and Hillcrest Ave. A $440,000 project will occur along Marlow Road to lay 4,000 feet of plastic pipe and install meters.

Columbia Gas officials will hold a public meeting to discuss the project at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the River of Life Church, 3611 Upton Ave.
