Toledo Edison has begun offering energy conservation kits and educational materials to customers to support Ohio’s energy-effciency law.
Customers of Toledo Edison, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp., can order the kits by calling 1-877-639-0218 or requesting them through the utility’s Web site, ohioenergykit.com. The kit contains nine compact fluorescent light bulbs of various wattages, two LED night lights, one smart power strip, and other components.
A customer must provide his or her FirstEnergy utility account number when placing an order. The kits’ cost is recovered through residential rates under the new law. No added costs or handling fees are charged to those ordering kits, which are to help Ohioans learn about energy efficiency and offer ways to save energy and money on their bills.
