Farmers' Market back at new location today

BLADE STAFF

Today is the second time the Toledo Farmers' Market will offer local produce for sale in a new location -- the parking lot of Lucas County Job and Family Services.

The pilot program is scheduled to run three days this summer but could be expanded if it is successful, officials have said.

The market will run from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. today and Sept. 12 in the lot at 3210 Monroe St.

The market accepts cash as well as credit and food-stamp cards.

It offers a program to food-stamp consumers called "double-up bucks" that doubles purchasing power.
