Government prosecution of college coaches for bribing recruits is the ultimate hypocrisy (Sept. 28, “Louisville place Pitino, AD on leave”).
Our state and federal elected officials are flagrant in their acceptance of bribes for their votes. It’s called “pay to play” and has destroyed our democracy.

Reynolds should not be speed trap
There is a section of Reynolds Road, between Nebraska and Dorr Street, approximately seven blocks, where the speed limit is 35.
Daily, there is a Toledo police officer there with a speed gun. The speed limit everywhere else on Reynolds is 40-45 mph. I have written the mayor, but my email was forwarded to another department, where it died.
This is in my neighborhood, and I feel it is nothing more than a way for the city to trap people with speeding tickets from these ridiculous handheld radar guns.
The speed limit on this roadway should be increased to improve the traffic flow in this area, rather than taking people’s money with uncalled for speeding tickets.

Will there be a November surprise?
City of Toledo Mayor Paula Hicks-Hudson, City Law Director Adam Loukx, and some city council members continue to play the shell game — money, money, who gets the money?
The right hand continues to not know what the left hand is doing. Will there be a big revelation a week or two before the November elections that many more millions will be available to replace our deplorable streets?

Need answers on Issue 2
Issue 2 seems “loaded.” Is it really as simple as voting yes?
This would require the drug manufacturers to sell their drugs to the state of Ohio (Medicare/Medicaid) at the same discounted rate that they sell to the V.A.
Is it also safe to say that by passing Issue 2, we run the risk of drug manufacturers simply doing away with the V.A. discount, thus resulting in an increase for all?
As a resident of Michigan who has business interests in Ohio, I look forward to the discussion.
