A new training session for Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalists will be Thursday evenings and Saturdays, August through October.
The curriculum emphasizes hands-on nature education and covers ecological concepts, geology, and northwest Ohio soils, among other topics.
Held at various metroparks, classes will be 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays beginning Aug. 16, and three Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants will receive more than 40 hours of education and be expected to volunteer in the metroparks. Cost is $225.
