Seven caddies from northwest Ohio have been awarded full college tuition and housing scholarships for the 2003-04 school year by the Evans Scholars Foundation.
More than 830 caddies are currently attending college as Evans Scholars and some 7,600 have graduated since the program was founded in 1930 by famed amateur Chick Evans.
Three area caddies - E. John Kanney (St. John's Jesuit, Toledo Country Club), J. Nicholas Lay (Tiffin Calvert, Mohawk Golf Club), and Hannah M. Minard (Southview, Inverness Club) will be attending Miami University.
Headed for Ohio State are Laurie R. Ehrenfried (Tiffin Calvert, Mohawk GC), Ryan M. Lewandowski (Perrysburg, Belmont CC), Joseph D. Pedro (Central Catholic, Sylvania CC), and Vincent A. Ross (Maumee, Toledo CC).
