The Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic could very well open Thursday without its defending champion.
Paula Creamer said she will consult with a Toledo hand and wrist specialist Wednesday to evaluate her injured left thumb before determining her playing status for Thursday s first round at Highland Meadows Golf Club.
Creamer, who withdrew from the Wegmans LPGA on Friday due to the injury, played in a practice round Wednesday but said afterward that she was still experiencing pain in her thumb after receiving a cortisone shot Monday.
Creamer is scheduled to tee off on No. 10 at 9:10 a.m. Thursday.
