THE BASICS:

WHAT: 32nd U.S. Senior Open Championship

WHERE: Inverness Club, 4601 Dorr St, Toledo

WHEN: Begins Monday, with tournament competition Thursday through Sunday.

PURSE: $2,600,000; winner receives $470,000.

FIELD: 156 golfers

FORMAT: 72-hole stroke play. Field will be cut to the low 60 scores and ties after 36 holes, plus any player within 10 strokes of the leader. If the championship is tied after four rounds, a three-hole playoff will take place immediately following the conclusion of the fourth round. If the playoff results in a tie, play will immediately continue hole-by-hole until a champion is determined.

PROCEEDS: The 2011 U.S. Senior Open benefits Adopt America Network; Autism Model School; Children's Rights Council; Toledo Area Ministries; Toledo Basketball Academy; Veggie U; Ronald McDonald House; and the JFOCC Scholarship Fund.

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

MONDAY

Practice rounds: Gates open at 6:30 a.m.

TUESDAY

Practice rounds: Gates open at 6:30 a.m.

WEDNESDAY

Practice rounds: Gates open at 6:30 a.m.

THURSDAY

First round: Gates open at 6:30 a.m. Tee times -- 7:30-9:30 a.m., 12:45-2:45 p.m. (During 1st and 2nd rounds, players tee off in threesomes from the 1st and 10th tees).

FRIDAY

Second round: Gates open at 6:30 a.m. Tee times -- 7:30-9:30 a.m., 12:45-2:45 p.m. (During 1st and 2nd rounds, players tee off in threesomes from the 1st and 10th tees).

SATURDAY

Third round: Gates open at 7:00 a.m. Tee times -- estimated start at 8:30 a.m. (All rounds start at No. 1 tee).

SUNDAY

Final round: Gates open at 7:00 a.m. Tee times -- estimated start at 8:30 a.m. (All rounds start at No. 1 tee). Trophy presentation on the 18th green immediately following play.

 

TICKETS:

Daily Grounds Pass: $50

Weekly Grounds Pass: $130

Discounted ticket options at Toledo area Kroger stores: Daily pass $45, weekly pass $125

Junior tickets: Kids 17 and under are admitted free when accompanied by a ticketed adult each day of the championship. One adult may escort up to nine kids. It is not necessary to notify the championship office in advance.

Will Call: The ticket will call is located at Tim Horton's on the corner of Dorr and Reynolds. Parking will be available in the Tim Horton's lot for ticket pick-up only.

 

GENERAL INFO:

ATM/Cash Machine: An ATM/Cash Machine will be located at the merchandise tent located near the Main Entrance.

Camera Policy: Cameras are permitted on Monday through Wednesday only.

Parking: Spectator parking for the Senior Open is free and is located next to Inverness Club off of Hill Avenue near Reynolds. Law enforcement and signage will direct spectators to the public parking spaces. The free parking area puts spectators within walking distance of the main entrance, admissions, merchandise sales and disabled services.

Disabled Spectators: Scooters will be provided free of charge on a first-come, first-serve basis at the main gate. ADA accessible parking is available for spectators in the spectator parking lot off of Hill Avenue. Wheelchair accessible vehicles will be available to transport spectators with disabilities to and from the main entrance of the championship.

Restrooms: Restrooms and ADA accessible restrooms are located throughout the course, mostly adjacent to the concession areas

 

BANNED ITEMS:

The following items are not permitted on the course during the tournament:

  • Cell Phones, including any cell phones with photographic capabilities
  • PDAs and/or other portable email devices
  • Noise producing electronic devices
  • Cameras, camcorders (cameras permitted Monday through Wednesday for personal use only)
  • Bags or backpacks larger than 8"W x 8"H x 8"D
  • Cases or covers, such as chair or umbrella covers
  • Signs, posters or banners
  • Televisions or radios
  • Food and beverages
  • Coolers or containers
  • Pets (other than service animals)
  • Lawn chairs or folding chairs
  • Bicycles or ladders
  • Metal-spiked golf shoes
  • Weapons, regardless of permit
  • Any other items deemed unlawful or dangerous

*Parents with small children are allowed to bring strollers and diaper bags. These items are subject to inspection.
