Area roundup: McComb's Aldrich brothers can play basketball, also

AYERSVILLE - Rusty and Dusty Aldrich picked up right where they left off during football season.

The twins, who helped lead McComb to an undefeated season and the state playoffs in football, combined for 35 points last night to lead the Panthers to a 68-65 victory over Ayersville.

Rusty had 20 points - 12 of them on 3-pointers - and Dusty had 15. Eric Tracy added 12 points and Derek Coker had 10.

Dan Myers and Kirk McKibben each had 16 points for Ayersville.

TIFFIN - Andy Ritzler had 22 points and Nick Lucius 20 for Tiffin Calvert.

Patrick Phillips had 34 points and 20 rebounds for Sandusky St. Mary's before fouling out in the fourth quarter.

EDGERTON - The Bulldogs outrebounded the Apaches 41-27 and shot 51 per cent from the field.

Josiah Wilmot poured in a game-high 24 points for Edgerton, which also got 22 points from Derek Sito.

Bob Brown paced Fairview with 23 points and Brock Bergman added 22.

WEST UNITY - Nick Smith and Jared Bailey combined for 31 points as visiting Tinora whipped Hilltop.

TIFFIN - Pat Burkins led a trio of double-digit scorers with 17 points as Clyde edged Tiffin Columbian.

Josh Martin tallied 20 points for the Tornadoes.
