Girls basketball: Perrysburg beats Generals with fourth-quarter rally

Perrysburg (7-1, 4-0) pulled away in the final quarter for a 50-44 victory over Anthony Wayne (5-1, 2-1) last night at home to remain unbeaten in the Northern Lakes League in girls basketball.

The Yellow Jackets trailed 34-29 after three quarters before turning it up a notch to outscore the Generals 21-10 in the last period.

Christan Dhondt led Perrysburg with 12, including seven in the fourth quarter. Jenny Langevin added 11 and Kelly Crain 10.

Leslie Everhart and Andrea Puntsler topped AW with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

MAUMEE 41, BOWSHER 35

Reva Kerkulah scored nine of her game-high 13 points in the second quarter for the Panthers (4-4).

Jazlin Davis led visiting Bowsher (2-5) with 11 and Biz Schaetzke contributed 10.

BOWLING GREEN 56, SPRINGFIELD 53

Nicole Coffey-Avery paced the visiting Bobcats to victory with help from Megan Finkhousen (13 points) and Anne Dunipace (12).

Cathryn Drlik scored 16 points and Heather Liber 15 for the Blue Devils.

CLAY 75, WHITMER 58

Visiting Clay trailed 28-26 at halftime, but made up for it in the second half, outscoring Whitmer 49-30.

Kristen Crawford led the Eagles (3-4, 2-2) with 16 and was aided by Melissa Johnson's 14. Danielle Hinz (20 points) and Bridget Buss (15) topped Whitmer (2-4, 2-2).

CARDINAL STRITCH 51, NORTHWOOD 30

Cardinal Stritch (5-1, 1-0) pulled away in the second half at home after leading by five points at halftime as Jessica Ameling scored 11 points.

Northwood fell to 2-5, 1-2.

LAKOTA 63, WOODMORE 50

ELMORE - Woodmore outscored Lakota 19-9 at the free throw line but the Raiders made 10 more 2-pointers and one more 3-pointer for the win.

Jenny Brickner led Lakota (6-0, 4-0) with 17 and Jenny Widman and Brandy Ritter each scored 12.

Abby Richard of the Wildcats (3-3, 2-2) led all scorers with 20 and Catie Lavigne added 15.

GENOA 55, LAKE 38

GENOA - Kelly Lindesmith paced the Comets (3-2, 1-2) with 22 points, while Jodi Moritz added 14 and Lindsay Imbery 10.

Ashley Maix scored 14 for Lake (0-7, 0-5).

GIBSONBURG 69, ELMWOOD 53

GIBSONBURG - Abby Wonderly scored 17 and Heather Hill 15 for the unbeaten Golden Bears (7-0, 4-0) as Gibsonburg posted a 22-6 advantage in foul shots made.

Stephanie Fausnaugh paced the Royals (1-5, 0-4) with 13 and Sarah Morgart added 12.

LIBERTY CENTER 60, SWANTON 27

SWANTON - Megan Wachman (18 points) and Katie McClure (11) helped the Tigers (6-1, 2-1) roll.

Swanton dropped to 1-3, 0-2 as the Bulldogs were out-rebounded 27-17 and committed 27 turnovers to Liberty Center's 10.

FINDLAY 49, FREMONT ROSS 42

FREMONT - The Trojans (6-1, 4-0) knocked off the previously unbeaten Little Giants (4-1, 3-1) as Brienne Beaschler scored 21 points and Lindy Hatfield and Leah Miller added 10 apiece. Alison Decker notched 11 for Ross.

Findlay put the game away at the free throw line, making 16 of 20 shots.
