Boys basketball roundup: Otsego wins in overtime

TONTOGANY - Nick Neiderhouse scored 18 points, including three consecutive 3s in the fourth quarter last night that enabled Otsego to force overtime, and the Knights stayed unbeaten with a 64-62 win over Liberty Center.

Neiderhouse brought Otsego back from the nine-point fourth-quarter deficit, then Seth Waits scored four of his 14 points in overtime for the Knights.

Nick Carroll paced Otsego (12-0) with 21 points.

Liberty Center (5-5) had three players in double figures, led by Greg Badenhop with 20 - including five treys. Joe Hamlin added 16 and Tim Myers had 15.


SCOTT 66, DAYTON PATTERSON 38

DAYTON - Dennis Springs scored 20 points and nine players scored for Scott (9-2), which trailed 9-6 after one quarter but then outscored Patterson 23-8, 20-13 and 17-8 over the final three.


FINDLAY 76, WOODWARD 42

Greg Friday scored 25 points for Findlay, which jumped to a 41-14 lead by halftime.

K.R. Schlievert added 14 points and Rob Young 10 for Findlay (8-4).

Alex Malone led Woodward (1-9) with 13.


BARBERTON 43, WAITE 40

BARBERTON, Ohio - Brad Webster scored 16 points to pace Barberton (10-2).

Jeremy McDonald led Waite (7-4) with 10.

Neither team shot well at the foul line - Barberton hit 13 of 25 and Waite 8 of 19.


NORTHVIEW 65, FREMONT ROSS 57

Steve Horner scored 23 points to pace Northview.

Ryan Vinciguerra scored 16 points for Northview (10-2), including 10-of-11 shooting at the foul line where the Wildcats were 18-for-21. Kevin Croke added 10 points.

T.J. Hammer scored 13 and Terrence Jones 12 for Fremont Ross (9-4), which hit just 11 of 23 from the line.


EASTWOOD 58, GENOA 42

PEMBERVILLE - Thurman Lawniczak scored 17 points for Eastwood.

The Eagles (8-4, 6-2 SLL) jumped to a 16-4 lead after one quarter and maintained control.

Matt Benefield paced Genoa (3-10, 2-6) with 12 points.


WOODMORE 71, ELMWOOD 62

ELMORE - Scott Bergman scored 23 points and Andrew Greenley and Dan Lieske each added 14.

Lieske also grabbed 13 rebounds for the Wildcats.

Matt Custer led Elmwood with 22 points.

Woodmore outscored Elmwood 23-7 in the third quarter after leading just 24-22 at the half.


LAKE 60, LAKOTA 47

KANSAS - Scott Conley scored a game-high 25 points, including eight in the first quarter that fueled a 17-6 run by the Flyers.

Matt Graber scored 17 to lead Lakota.


MAUMEE VALLEY 90, MIAMI VALLEY 76

DAYTON - Josh Radtkin went 5-for-5 from 3-point range and scored 25 points to lead Maumee Valley Country Day School.

Tyler Boehm added 21 points and Chris Joo 15 for the Hawks, who improved to 8-4. Maumee Valley went 16-for-32 from 3-point range.

Miami Valley is 8-4.


CALVERT 64, STRITCH 57

TIFFIN - Nick Lucius scored 20 of his 24 points in the second half for Tiffin Calvert (8-5).

Andy Ritzler added 11 for Calvert, which trailed 30-21 at the half.

Ryan Sheehy led Stritch (2-8) with 22, and Nick Waldmaann and Brad Gasser each added 10.

Calvert converted 18 of 28 free throws to Stritch's 5 of 16.


NORTHWOOD 49, TOLEDO CHRISTIAN 47

Mike Shaneck and Ken Wines each scored 11 points and Matt Donegan added 10 for Northwood (8-4, 4-3 TAAC).

Jason Schaff led Toledo Christian (1-10, 1-3) with 16 points.


DANBURY 59, MARGARETTA 52

MARGARETTA - Mike Chura scored 17 points for Danbury.


WAUSEON 54, DELTA 45

WAUSEON - Steve Hill scored 15 points and Wauseon rallied with a 25-8 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Joe Demaline led Delta with 15.


EVERGREEN 75, PETTISVILLE 57

PETTISVILLE - Matt Mossing scored 19, Dan Stong 15 and Eric Simon 14 for Evergreen.


MONTPELIER 75, EDON 60

MONTPELIER - Tyson Richmond paced Montpelier with 17 points.


OAK HARBOR 61, PERKINS 47

OAK HARBOR - Dan Laughlin led Oak Harbor (11-2) with 15 points.
