Suburban Lakes roundup: Motivated Eastwood rolls past Otsego 60-44

PEMBERVILLE - Motivation was no problem for Eastwood last night, since Otsego had administered the Eagles' only Suburban Lakes League loss of the season.

Still smarting from a tough loss to Old Fort Thursday night, Eastwood put the hurt on Otsego right away last night with a 27-9 first quarter and rolled to a 60-44 victory that clinched the Suburban Lakes League championship.

It was the sixth SLL title in the last 15 years for the Eagles (16-4, 13-1). Otsego fell to 10-10, 7-7.

Ross Lingenfelder (12 points), Matt Nabors (10) and Brent Snyder (10) paced balanced Eastwood.

Randy Calhoun and Brodie Miller were high for the Knights with 16 and 11 points, respectively.

KANSAS - A.J. Schlea scored 22 points and Andrew Greenley added 10 as Woodmore (15-5, 12-2) romped while hitting 28 of 36 free throws.

Tim Overly led Lakota (3-17, 3-11) with 11 points.

MILLBURY - The Comets pulled away with a 16-7 advantage in the third quarter.

Mark Belkofer led Genoa (9-1, 8-6) with 21 points, Sam Edens added 11 and Zack Diekman 10.

Lake (8-12, 5-9) got 12 points apiece from Wes Blank and Ryan Pannell.

BLOOMDALE - The Royals outscored the visitors 52-32 in the second half to come back from a six-point halftime deficit.
