Girls basketball roundup: Maumee romps with a balanced attack

Maumee placed five players in double figures last night in a 77-49 Northern Lakes League girls basketball victory over Rossford.

Reva Kerkulah led host Maumee (11-6, 7-4) with 17, Katie Greisiger added 14, Janet Halsey 13, Leslie Korotney 11 and Mikki Sutherland 10.

Chassidy Tooson led Rossford (1-16, 0-11) with 12 and Michelle Lewis added 11.

SOUTHVIEW 46, SPRINGFIELD 31

Stephanie Kneisley scored 13 and Kristi McCoy 11 for Southview, which outscored Springfield 13-3 in both the first and fourth quarters.

Alex Bird had 11 and Sarah Carstensen 10 for Springfield.

ANTHONY WAYNE 52, BOWLING GREEN 27

BOWLING GREEN - Kerry Zunkienicz and Steph Hoover scored 10 each to pace Anthony Wayne (9-8, 6-4). BG fell to 2-14, 2-8.

GENOA 60, NORTHWOOD 51

GENOA - Nicole Nissen scored 16, Keri Williams 15 and Courtney Nissen 13 for Genoa (8-9), which hit 7 of 11 foul shots while Northwood was cold at the line - 11 for 27.

Stacy Ziegler led Northwood (12-5) with 19.

PATRICK HENRY 70, LEIPSIC 31

HAMLER - Karyn Creager scored 17, Amanda Coressel 15 and Nicole Miller 11 for Patrick Henry, which canned 20 of 25 free throws. Angie Gerten led Leipsic with 10.

BRYAN 49, HILLTOP 35

BRYAN - Thea Crist scored 14, Sara Fee 11 and Jamie Dennis 10 for 11-6 Bryan.

Amanda Schaffner led Hilltop with 10.

ARCHBOLD 58, DEFIANCE 34

ARCHBOLD - Kendra Stahl led Archbold with 17, Amy Wannemacher added 13 and Betsy Stotzer 10.

Kaycie McBride led Defiance with 16.

STRYKER 62, LIBERTY CENTER 61

STRYKER - Megan Myers scored 22, Dani Partee 16 and Kamilla Ruffer 11 as Stryker won in overtime.

Katie McClure scored 36 points for Liberty Center and Denise Matheny added 12.

MONTPELIER 66, NORTH CENTRAL 22

PIONEER - Melissa Brenner hit six treys on the way to 19 points for Montpelier.

Megan Miller, Roz Pirtle and Danielle Finch each scored 11 for Montpelier.

OAK HARBOR 59, HOPEWELL-LOUDON 36

BASCOM - Oak Harbor improved to 16-0 with Megan Bodnar and Mandy Quisno leading the way with 11 points each.

Alaina Ritter paced the Chieftains (6-12) with 12. Ashley Brickner scored 10.
