Four northwest Ohio girls basketball players who received All-Ohio honors will play Sunday in the annual North-South all-star games at Capital University near Columbus.
Kelly Helvey, a first-team Division I All-Ohioan from top-ranked Central Catholic, will play in the Division I-II game at 1:30 p.m. Helvey, who helped the Irish to an 88-10 record over four years, will play at the University of Michigan next season.
Archbold's Kevin Miller, coach of the North team for the Division III-IV game at noon, will have three area players on his roster, including D-IV co-player of the year Vanessa Rothman of Holgate, who twice led the Tigers to state runner-up finishes (2001 and '03).
Joining Rothman on the North squad will be first-team D-III All-Ohioan Katie Butler from Liberty-Benton, and D-III second-teamer Karyn Creager of Patrick Henry.
