2 long returns lift Wauseon
METAMORA - Wauseon didn't score an offensive touchdown, but got two long returns for scores in a 13-7 victory over Evergreen last night.
Raymond Martinez returned the opening kickoff 80 yards, and Jake Reckner added a 67-yard interception return in the third quarter.
Evergreen scored on a 30-yard pass from Brent Simon to Travis Dowling in the third quarter.
Evergreen held the league's leading rusher, Tyler Gearig, to 65 yards on 23 carries.
Chris Pfund had 79 yards on 20 carries for Evergreen.
SWANTON - Delta's Nate Kmic tallied four touchdowns as the Panthers exploded for 35 points in the first quarter.
Kmic scored on runs of 5, 14, and 21 yards as well as a 19-yard interception return.
Damian Moss added an 84-yard rushing TD for Delta (7-1, 5-1) and Ryan Vicars ran for a two-yarder and threw a 46-yard touchdown pass to Glen Borck.
Kmic picked up 115 yards on nine carries and Moss amassed 112 on three attempts for the Panthers.
Swanton fell to 1-7, 1-6.
BRYAN - Curt Silveus ran for 72 yards and two touchdowns as Liberty Center wore down Bryan with its running attack.
Eric Wymer carried 16 times for 75 yards and a touchdown for the Tigers, who had 211 rushing yards.
Jamie Lorentz had 76 yards on 19 carries for Bryan.
LAFAYETTE - Stuart Thorp completed 13 of 15 passes for 128 yards and three touchdowns for the visiting Locomotives.
Two of his touchdown passes went to Tony Pawlowicz. Greg Willibey hauled in the other one.
Kurt Moore carried 12 times for 118 yards, including a 53-yard touchdown run in the first quarter for Montpelier.
Jordan Reffitt scored all of Allen East's points on two short touchdown runs and a conversion run.
