Champine sparks Bedford victory

TEMPERANCE, Mich. - Brian Champine scored 17 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and came up with several key defensive plays during a 12-0 Bedford run from mid third quarter to early fourth that helped the Mules defeat Dexter 56-37 last night.

Jake Welch added 11 points and Brandon Balk 10 for the 2-0 Mules.

MONROE, Mich. - Erie Mason beat Monroe Jefferson 54-47 despite going just 7 of 22 from the foul line.

Kyle Upchurch led Erie Mason with 19 points and Kevin Laderach added 15.

Dan Gendron led Jefferson with 16.

FREMONT - Fred Shearon scored 27 points for Fremont Ross, including eight in overtime as Ross topped Napleon 74-69. Antoine Davis added 14 points.

Napoleon got 17 from Larry Ward, 14 from Jeremy Davis - who forced OT with two foul shots with 23 seconds left - and 12 from Ryan Funchion.

FINDLAY - Travis Walton led Lima Senior with 27, including 12 in overtime as the Spartans beat Findlay 66-61.

Brad Sutton had 18, Brad Inkrott 14 and Jack Miller 13 for Findlay.

t Pettisville beat Fayette 77-66 as Justin Rufenacht scored 17 and Braydon Meck and Garrett Miller each added 15. Heath Armstrong scored 27 for Fayette.

t Aaron Mars had 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Josh Graham 15 points as Tiffin Calvert beat Fostoria St. Wendelin 65-60. Chad Ritzler led St. Wendelin with 14.

t Robert Kisabeth scored 16 but Tiffin Columbian fell 76-61 to Willard.

t Kaleb Faber scored 30 and Ryan McClain 23 as Mohawk beat Fremont St. Joe 76-68. A.J. Messina led St. Joe with 18.

t A six-point third quarter proved to be the downfall for Blissfield in a 63-55 loss to Gabriel Richard. Zach Benko and Ryan Terry each had 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Royals.
