NWOAL: Krauss becomes Pats' TD leader

HAMLER - Marc Krauss became Patrick Henry's career touchdown leader with two more as the Patriots routed Archbold 41-8 in a Northwest Ohio Athletic League game last night. Krauss, a junior, now has 24 TDs, nine this season. The previous record was 22 set by Tony Hiser in the 1996-97 seasons.

The Patriots' Zack George completed 10 of 17 passes for 196 yards and four touchdowns, with Krauss catching five passes for 93 yards.

Josh Strub added 98 yards in six carries.

Ben Botjer and Brian Yarnell each snagged one of George's TD tosses, and Botjer ran for another six-pointer.

Patrick Henry led 35-0 at halftime, and neither team played its first-teamers in the second half. In the first half, the undefeated Patriots (8-0, 7-0) piled up a 334-36 advantage in net total offense.

Patrick Henry had 459 yards net total offense to 125 for the Blue Streaks (4-4, 3-3).

Kevin Mignin (3-for-8 for 34 yards) and Gene Goering (3-for-4 for 46 yards) combined for 80 yards passing for Archbold.

Wauseon 18,

Evergreen 0

WAUSEON - Jake Unger rushed for 160 yards on 27 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns to pace Wauseon.

After scoring on a 16-yard run in the second quarter, Unger caught a six-yard pass from Jake Reckner in the third and Reckner added a six-yard scoring run in the fourth.

Wauseon amassed 336 yards rushing and 19 passing and controlled the ball 31 of the game's 48 minutes. Evergreen had 74 yards rushing and 40 passing.

Delta 48, Swanton 8

DELTA - Nate Kmic added six touchdowns and five PATs to his impressive 2004 totals and now has 206 points for Delta (7-1, 5-1).

Kmic scored on runs of 28, 1, 10, 23, 98 and 11 yards - all before halftime. He had 223 yards on 10 carries.

Delta ran for 356 yards while holding the Bulldogs to 78.

The Panthers had none in the air while Swanton threw for 72.

Liberty Center 41, Bryan 0

LIBERTY CENTER - Eric Wymer and Curt Silveus ran for two touchdowns apiece as the Tigers overwhelmed the Golden Bears.

Wymer opened the scoring parade with a 57-yard run and was the game's leading rusher with 10 carries for 130 yards.

Silveus added 92 yards on 18 carries as Liberty Center (7-1, 5-1) ran the ball 50 times for 368 yards while holding Bryan (1-7, 1-5) to 88 yards, all on the ground on 40 rushes.

Bryan Babcock and Evan Tiplady ran for the other two Tigers TDs.

Montpelier 36,

Parkway 6

ROCKFORD - Stuart Thorp threw four touchdown passes to pace Montpelier (4-4).

Thorp hit 14 of 26 passes for 125 yards with scoring strikes of 8 and 15 yards to Cody Mercer, 5 yards to Tyler Thomas and 2 yards to Chase Henry.

The final Montpelier TD came on an 80-yard run by Marcus Newell.
